This one is an example of how fires will jump from lower trees up to the canopy in a forest.  It's a very good representation of the speed and potential destruction caused by wildfires.


This video shows the power of a fire vortex, and how the air flow or wind conditions can impact it.  Notice at around 1:44 in the video, someone changes the angle of the fan and the direction.  Watch the power.
Now imagine the extreme power of a flame tornado or vortex, sitting on its side, that is 4 feet wide and up to 11 feet long!  The vortex in our system is 90 mph, which is similar to an F1 tornado.
